Development of Volvo V40 Mobile App

For the Volvo V40 launch expo in Shanghai, we developed a mobile app that used augmented reality (AR) to let users capture photos of themselves with a virtual Volvo V40 in the background. These AR-enhanced images could then be easily shared on social media platforms like Weibo.

The blending of innovative mobile functionality and social sharing created a shareable experience for expo attendees. The ability to showcase their “portrait” with the Volvo V40 and enter a related social media contest further lead more participation.

By tapping into the viral nature of social media, this mobile app-driven approach amplified the reach and impact of the Volvo V40 launch campaign, turning attendees into brand ambassadors. The strategic combination of immersive AR and social integration proved a powerful formula for widespread, organic promotion.
